Ce lundi, c’est une journée où le point septentrional de la Loire a été franchi, une journée qui marque la fin d’une semaine de navigation, une journée où Radobineau nous a fait plaisir !
Alors voilà, Orléans a été franchi cet apres-midi sous un soleil de feu et pour une ultime difficulté : le pont Georges V . En effet depuis notre départ on nous en parle comme un passage angoissant avec un devers plus ou moins grand en fonction du niveau de la Loire. Pour des kayakistes du dimanche ou autres touristes venu se faire « une balade » sur la Loire… et donc, pour nous aussi, ce passage pouvait s’avérer intimidant… Et il le fut!! Une centaine de mètres avant de le franchir, de la berge, un groupe de canoës arrêtés nous criaient « c’est dangereux attention! Prenez la voûte de droite absolument… » Etait-il trop tard pour changer de cap? Toujours est-il que ça nous a bien crispé ! Déjà engagé dans une voie fallait-il paniquer ? On a pas eu le temps… le flot déjà grondait et les vagues de tout sens s’affolaient creusant le lit du fleuve… je crois qu’on a tous serré les dents et un peu aussi les f… Plus un mot inutile à bord, juste « petit coup à gauche »… « petit coup à droite » .. « bloque à droite »… »bloque à gauche »… etc. Puis le radeau entama le passage, bien dans l’axe du courant, sans montrer la moindre fébrilité!
Petite frayeur donc… de quelques secondes, car les enfants n’y voyaient là que de forts remous annonçant une belle animation pour l’équipage (De toute façon on ne peut plus faire demi-tour!) et surtout, Radobineau s’est de suite montré stable et solide, indifférent aux assauts des vagues cassantes! Ça a un peu secoué, vrai, mais jamais on n’a senti perdre le contrôle… et ça, c’est réjouissant pour une telle embarcation!
Les enfants heureux, à la limite d’en demander une nouvelle dose, moi soulagé, nous décidâmes d’hisser la voile pour prendre le large de cette étape importante.
Oui j’ai bien dit hisser, car après une semaine de météo contrariante, la grosse nouvelle, c’est que le vent est aujourd’hui principalement portant !
Ni une ni deux, on a transformé notre voile d’ombrage en spinnaker et le radeau en catamaran… le pied!!
Et nous basculons donc dans la Loire des rois et des châteaux toute voile dehors!
Au bivouac du soir, la baignade (sécurisée ) venait nous soulager d’une chaude journée !
Je ne m’ hasarderai pas à dresser le bilan de cette première semaine tant on a l’impression qu’elle a durée des mois… Beaucoup d’expériences et d’expérimentations! On apprend, on avance, avec de beaux moments de partage et de rire, mais aussi de temps en temps, quelques points sur les « i » entre nous… C’est la vie, mais qu’elle est jolie!
